Micromobility leaders target expansion and multimodality

A car does more than move people from A to B. Micromobility services must offer the same diversity, and multimodality could be one way to do this. By Xavier Boucherat

Growth of the micromobility segment continues at a pace, with authorities showing increased favour for shared e-scooter and bike solutions. Early tensions between operators and cities have lessened considerably, with regulation, infrastructure and improved quality models helping to streamline services into everyday city life. This is a far cry from the scenes of ‘scooter apocalypse’ seen in San Francisco over 2017, with units—often badly damaged—abandoned on practically every corner.
